Tweety

A Little Tweety Bird wants you to know he's as cute as they come and he is available for adoption. Tweety is about 7 months old (DOB: 08/23). This gorgeous boy is possibly a Catahoula Leopard Dog mix. His fur is so soft. We are still getting to know Tweety, and we can already tell you he is a total lovebug. He wants to kiss all humans and get pets. He is not reactive at our facility. He walks well on a leash but would rather walk right next to you, so we are still working on personal space (although, who wants personal space from anything this cute?) He has beautiful hazel eyes.

Stallone isn't as dashing as this Sylvester. Who needs muscles and celeb status when you are this cute? Sylvester is a 7-month-old (DOB: 08/23) male black/tan mix. He currently weighs 34 pounds, and we expect him to be a medium/large dog. He is all about humans and love. He is currently what we call a "Velcro dog." He wants to be with humans all the time. We can't wait for you to meet Big Poppa. He is a celebrity already.

Eve

Meet Eve! Eve is a delightful female Pointer mix with a heart of gold. Eve came to us from a local shelter pregnant. Luckily, we had the perfect foster home for Eve and her puppies. Not only did Eve take care of her own puppies, but she also helped nurse the husky puppies because Mary was so emaciated that she didn't have enough milk. Then, Eve nursed three bottle babies that were only two days old when their mom was hit by a car. We think it's time for Eve to be the center of love and attention in her new forever home. Eve exudes sweetness and charm, making her a beloved presence wherever she goes. Her affectionate nature shines through in every interaction, as she eagerly wags her tail and showers everyone with love. Her impeccable manners, including being housebroken and mastering basic commands like sitting, make her an easy addition to any home. At just one year old, she's already full-grown, weighing 56 pounds. She doesn't bark unnecessarily, preferring to express her happiness through gentle tail wags and affectionate nudges. With her endearing personality and unwavering loyalty, Eve is a cherished companion waiting to bring endless joy to her furever family! Anastasia

Do you want a girl that loves to snuggle and kiss? A brown-eyed beauty who loves car rides and treats? Does your heart melt for a wiggle butt? Do you want to be someone's whole world? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you need to meet Anastasia, AKA Ana Banana! Anastasia, lovingly referred to as “Ana”, or “Ana Banana”, by staff and volunteers, is still looking for her forever home. Ana was found tied to a front porch alone after her family moved away and left her behind. Hard to imagine how confused and scared this young girl must have been. Ana has come so far in a relatively short period of time and is looking for an adopter that is patient and kind and can give her what she needs to become the very best version of herself. Ana is a little over 1yr old and weighs around 55lbs. She loves to run and play fetch with tennis balls. Although it takes Ana time to warm up to new people, once she feels comfortable, she loves petting and affection from her circle of human friends! Ana is dog selective and does well with larger dogs her personality and play style mesh well with. Interested adopters that have larger dogs are encouraged to call the center to arrange a “Meet and Greet”. Ana would do best in a home with older, respectful children and no cats or smaller dogs. I come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. This benefit includes free access to Petcademy's team of trainers/behaviorists and online materials that will help you settle your new furry friend into your home. Sunday

Meet Sunday, a handsome and lovable fur baby. Sunday is hoping his adoption day will come soon, so he can find his furever home. One of Sunday's very favorite things in the world is soccer balls. He absolutely loves them and can spend hours playing with them. He's also a big fan of playing in general and gets along well with other doggies. Sunday enjoys giving gentle nibbles and loves being a lap doggie, even though he sometimes forgets that he's not a small pup. Attention is something Sunday craves, and he will gladly soak up any belly rubs you are willing to give him. He's a goofy pup who knows how to make people smile. Sunday also has a bit of a slobbery kissing habit, but that only adds to his charm. When it comes to toys, in addition to his beloved soccer balls, Sunday also finds rope toys to be particularly fun. He enjoys tossing them about and playing with them. Sunday has a big appetite and loves all kinds of food. This 2-year-old male is a Lab mix, weighing in at a full-grown weight of 45 lbs. He is an enthusiastic pup who was adopted as a puppy but unfortunately returned to a local shelter. His microchip led him back to us. He has tested positive, a very low positive, for heartworms. However, don't worry, he just requires monthly heartworm pills to keep him healthy. Sunday walks well on a leash, is crate and potty-trained, and rides well in the car. He is friendly and lovable. Sunday is an extremely sweet dog with a friendly disposition, making him the perfect companion for someone looking for a loyal and playful friend. If you are interested in providing Sunday with the loving home he deserves, please reach out today to find out how to make this precious boy part of your life! Therefore, she eagerly awaits a home that can provide the additional guidance she needs to unleash her full potential. An active lifestyle is essential for this young, energetic companion. Maggie thrives on daily exercise and would flourish in a home where her natural playfulness can be nurtured. While she loves to play fetch and run, she also craves mental stimulation, making her the perfect match for someone who can challenge her remarkable mind. Maggie's good-natured disposition extends to other doggies her size, so a furry sibling would surely be welcomed. Huck

Huck is the guy for you if you have a quiet home and need a snuggle buddy! Hucks is a four-year-old (DOB: 2020) male mix of love and softness. He is probably part Chihuahua and Terrier. He has a beautiful tan, white, and grey coat. Huck was adopted from us as a puppy in 2020 and returned recently through no fault of his own. The child in the home didn't treat Huck respectfully. He is looking for a quiet home with no kids as, unfortunately, he has PTSD with kids. He loves other dogs and cats. This is what his foster had to say about him: He is chill, won't destroy anything, and can be left out during the day or night. When I allowed him, he would curl up and sleep on the couch or sometimes in bed with me. (*transport driver can attest to the snuggling. Huck snuggled the whole way home from foster mom's house!) Huck is not a fan of his crate, but once he trusts someone you can pick him up and place him in the crate. He will bark but will settle down quickly . He is good about going to the bathroom outside. Food- he can be a picky eater. He liked rehydrated nuggets with a little bit of warm water and dry food mixed in. Sometimes, he isn't in the mood for breakfast but will usually eat dinner. When Huck returned to us, he was diagnosed with epilepsy after a seizure. However, since then, we discovered his littermates (also adopted from us as puppies) occasionally have seizures. We are learning more about this condition. Huck didn't have a seizure while in foster, and he is on seizure medication - one pill a day. A two-month supply will cost $20, and you can get that through SPCA of the Triad after his adoption. He is a smart boy who knows to sit, leave it, and paw. He pretends to be a resource guarder with bones but will drop it if commanded. I've actually gotten from him multiple times, and he growls but does nothing else.

Moon Pie

Meet Moon Pie! Moon Pie was the star of our most recent adoption event. Moon Pie warmed up to strangers by the end of the event. Moon Pie loves other dogs. She would do best in a home with other dogs that can teach her how to be a dog and to trust humans. We believe Moon Pie was a backyard dog with limited human interaction. Moon Pie is an endearing one-year-old female mixed-breed dog with a heart of gold. She radiates warmth and sweetness with her petite frame and weighs around 30 lbs fully grown. Although she faces challenges with her vision, particularly in her right eye, her spirit remains undiminished, and she's a precious pup with a captivating personality. This pretty girl is a sweet soul who craves affection and companionship. She eagerly looks forward to a future filled with love and care in a nurturing environment. Moon Pie is known for her charming nature. Having come from a local shelter, she's ready to find her furever home where she can feel safe and cherished. Moon Pie's partial blindness in one eye requires patience and understanding of the home environment and a fenced-in yard to ensure her safety. Despite her vision impairment, she still enjoys simple pleasures like gnawing on bones and savoring the taste of peanut butter. Yum! With the right family, Moon Pie will blossom into a devoted and loyal companion, bringing joy and unconditional love into their lives every day. By opening your heart and home to Moon Pie, you're giving her a chance at a brighter future and gaining a best friend for life!

Penelope

Introducing Penelope! Penelope is a lovable young lady eagerly awaiting her adoption day. She is an absolute sweetie! This adorable Beagle mix is just one year old and has already captured the hearts of everyone at the local shelter. Penelope is sure to bring joy to any family with her endearing personality and gentle demeanor. She weighs 20 lbs when fully grown, making her the perfect size for cuddling on the couch or going for long walks in the park. Despite her young age, Penelope has already shown a deep love for humans and enjoys giving kisses to anyone who'll let her. She's a sweetheart who loves attention and isn't afraid to show it. One of Penelope's favorite pastimes is exploring with her sniffer.

Chance

Meet Chance! Chance is a 5-year-old male Terrier mix who weighs a charming 8 lbs. This lovable furball is a true cutie pie who is eagerly awaiting his forever family. Chance recently joined our rescue, and we couldn't be more excited to update his profile as we learn more about his preferences. With a precocious personality and a heart full of love, Chance is a precious pup seeking a companion who appreciates his unique qualities. Chance's captivating charm is sure to capture the hearts of those who appreciate the true beauty in a rescue doggie. Whether chasing a ball, wagging his tail, or enjoying a leisurely walk, Chance's joyful energy is contagious. He is the kind of companion who will brighten your day, provide unwavering loyalty, and fill your home with warmth and laughter. At 5 years old, Chance has already established his demeanor and personality. This makes him a delightful choice for anyone looking for a furry friend who is always ready to explore and experience life together. Rose

This girl will melt your heart and fall in your lap. Meet Rose! Rose is the perfect balance of love and companionship. Rose's sweet disposition shines through in every interaction, earning her the title of a lovable furball and cutie pie. She can sometimes be a talkative pup who enjoys conversing, especially with her favorite people. So cute! Rose absolutely adores the company of kids and other doggies. She loves ladies and can be shy around men initially, but it doesn't take long for her to warm up. Her affectionate nature knows no bounds, as she eagerly gives kisses and snuggles in exchange for ear scratches. Rose remains resilient and optimistic despite her past journey of being adopted from us as a puppy to recently finding herself at a local shelter. After reuniting with us, thanks to her microchip, she is seeking a furever home where she can spread her love and joy. She is just six years old and weighs 73 lbs. Rose is a delightful Shepherd mix with a heart of gold! Rose is a dream on a leash, making her the perfect companion for leisurely walks or relaxed outings. What do I need to do if I am interested in adopting a dog or puppy?

Fill out and submit an application online. Please note that it may take several days to process your application once received. The pet will remain with the SPCA while the application is processed until approved. The application process will include a full background check, and a home visit will be required. The SPCA wants the best situation for the adopter and the pet.

Please be aware that there may be other applications ahead of yours for the pet you are interested in.

The SPCA will process your application and notify you regarding approval as quickly as possible.

Our "foster to adopt" program allows you and the animal to adjust to each other in a two-week trial home setting. You can work with the animal to transition into your home, lifestyle, and schedule during this time. Our available animals in "foster to adopt" are listed as "adoption pending" on our website.  Sometimes, foster to adopt doesn't work out, and our animals become available for adoption again. You may complete an application for an animal listed as "adoption pending," but please be aware this animal is not at our facility, and the adoption will likely be finalized.

Thank you for your interest in adopting a homeless animal.

$300 for dogs of all ages (puppies included)

Includes spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccines, and heartworm testing.

*Animals in foster to adoption are listed on our website as "adoption pending." This is a trial home situation or an animal waiting to be spayed/neutered. Spay/Neuter appointments can be several weeks, and we don't finalize adoptions until the animal is spayed/neutered.  Adoptions do fall through, so you can submit an application for an animal listed as "adoption pending," but please be aware there are no guarantees. *
