Introducing Ryder
Tall, dark, and undeniably dashing, Ryder is the kind of dog who turns heads the moment he steps into view. This 1 year-old, 72 lb Doberman is new to the SPCA of the Triad, and he’s already showing everyone what a gentle giant he truly is. With a calm demeanor and the softest touch when taking treats, Ryder pairs his impressive size with a wonderfully sweet nature.
There’s something almost magical about watching him move — his run is elegant and deer-like, full of grace despite his strength. Standing 5’1” tall on his back legs, he’s a big boy, but he carries himself with poise. Ryder already knows sit, down, and stay, and he enjoys showing off his skills (especially if belly rubs are included).
Because of his size and strength, Ryder would do best in a home with older kids, as he could accidentally knock over smaller children during play. Staff are still learning how he feels about cats. If you’re looking for a large, loving companion with training already in place, Ryder may be the perfect addition to your family.
Ryder comes with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. This benefit includes free access to Petcademy's team of trainers/behaviorists and online materials to help you settle your new furry friend into your home. You can text unlimited questions to Petcademy, and they'll respond within 24 hours (Monday through Friday).
